THE ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK 2007

Celebrating more than 11 years as a Network, 2007 leaped ahead into a new dimension in the

entertainment industry with two of the most successful conventions in Las Vegas, with JANNA JOOS, producer, and in Orlando, with GREG & JACKIE THOMPSON, that opened the doors to ABCTV’s “The Next Best Thing” coordinated by BELLA VLASIS & myself…

Producer, LES VOGT, after years of also being the Network’s webmaster, sought release from the task and a new webmaster, DOUG MCENTYRE, came aboard creating a new innovative Network website that displayed our members within a professional level.

Following the Show of Shows, produced in Las Vegas by ROB GARRETT & SHERIE RAE PARKER, 2007 became the Year of Shows as member/artists, agents and producers created Scripted Shows for their clients and audiences internationally… New shows popped up everywhere!!!

THE TRUTH IN MUSIC ADVERTISING LAWS went into effect around the nation that, in perspective, legitimized the tribute industry and made it clear that by advertising truthfully, the tribute industry was or would be recognized as a professional entity …

An Index of artists, agents, producers and others in the Industry came out in a new book, “CopyCats 2” that opened doors for more bookings for members and non-members…and the book, “You’ve Got the Look” by BELLA VLASIS, became the Guide to create the “look”… Callback Entertainment Newspaper expanded their operation as well as their image as publisher, MINNIE MADDEN, and editor, CHUCK ROUNDS, developed CB Magazine and invited the Entertainment Network to insert our news within their pages; an invitation gratefully accepted to be part of a print with a circulation of over 25,000 entertainment industry readers.

In the year 2007 the Network welcomed a host of very talented and creative new members and we produced many shows for charity and community causes in every city around the world where our artists, agents and producers resided. One of the most prolific producers of shows for charity was our member, PETER BANKS, who as Austin Powers, took the spotlight to raise money for those in need…wherever they were. We lost Peter in July 2007, ravaged by cancer….but not many of us will forget the man who left his family in England and found his industry family in the USA.

Then, in November, the entertainment industry lost another member, DOUG MASTERS, the Righteous Brother’s partner with GENE SIRONEN, and again grief and sorrow loomed over all of us. Once again we were reminded that the Network is a “family” that really cares for each other and the camaraderie that has been developed among each and every artist, agent, producer… and the others behind the curtain… have made this industry and everyone in it very special.

The year 2007 is coming to an end as we wish for an early safe return to SGT. DEBORAH GALAN from the war in Iraq and to see her perform again as Selena.

What will 2008 have in store for each of you? ……. Whatever you wish for…. Count on it!! Bea
